Degrees of higher education

Our university trains specialists at such higher education levels:

 

The first (bachelor) level of higher education

The first (bachelor) level of higher education corresponds to the seventh level National Qualifications Framework and implies obtaining a person theoretical knowledge and practical skills sufficient for the successful performance of professional duties for the chosen specialty.

At this level, a bachelor's degree is obtained. A person has the right to obtain a bachelor's degree provided that she has completed a general secondary education or a lower bachelor's degree (an educational qualification level for a junior specialist)..

Bachelor – this is an educational degree, which is awarded by a higher education institution as a result of the successful completion by an applicant of a higher education educational program, the volume of which is 240 ECTS credits on the basis of complete general secondary education. The volume of educational and professional programs for obtaining a bachelor's degree based on the degree of junior bachelor or junior specialist is 120–180 ECTS credits.

 

Second (master) level of higher education

The second (master) level of higher education corresponds to the eighth level  National Qualifications Framework and involves the person receiving in-depth theoretical and / or practical knowledge, skills and abilities in the chosen specialty (or specialization), general principles of the methodology of scientific and / or professional activity, other competencies sufficient to effectively accomplish the tasks of an innovative nature of the appropriate level of professional activity.

At this level, a master's degree is obtained. A person has the right to obtain a master's degree provided that she has a bachelor's degree or an educational qualification level of a specialist.

Master – this is an educational degree, which is awarded by a higher education institution (scientific institution) as a result of the successful completion of a relevant educational program by a candidate for higher education. The master's degree is acquired by educational or professional educational program. The volume of the educational and professional master’s training program is 90 ECTS credits, scope of educational and scientific program – 120 ECTS credits. The Master’s educational and scientific program necessarily includes a research (scientific) component of at least 30 percent..

 

The third (educational and scientific) level of higher education

The third (educational and scientific) level of higher education corresponds to the ninth level National Qualifications Framework. Educational and scientific level of higher education involves obtaining theoretical knowledge, skills, abilities and other competencies sufficient to produce new ideas, solve complex problems in the field of professional and / or research and innovation activities, master the methodology of scientific and educational activities, as well as conduct their own scientific research, the results of which have scientific novelty, theoretical and practical value.

At this level, a doctorate in philosophy is obtained. A person has the right to obtain a Ph.D degree on the basis of a master's degree (equivalent to an educational qualification level of a specialist equated to a master's degree).

Ph.D – this is an educational and, at the same time, a first scientific degree, which is awarded as a result of the successful completion by a competitor of a higher education of an appropriate educational and scientific program and public defense of a thesis in a specialized academic council. The volume of the educational component of the educational and scientific training program for the Ph.D 30–60 ECTS credits.

A person has the right to obtain a doctorate in philosophy during his postgraduate study. Persons who professionally carry out scientific, scientific and technical or scientific and pedagogical activities at their main place of employment have the right to obtain a Ph.D. degree out of graduate school, in particular during their stay on creative leave, subject to the successful completion of a corresponding educational and scientific program and public defense of the dissertation. in a specialized academic council.

 

Scientific level of higher education

Scientific level of higher education corresponds to the tenth level National Qualifications Framework and involves the acquisition of competence in the development and implementation of the methodology and methodology of research, the creation of new knowledge and / or advanced technologies, the solution of an important scientific or applied problem that has a national or global significance. 

At this level, a doctorate degree is obtained. A person has the right to obtain a Doctor of Science degree on the basis of a Ph.D degree).

Doctor of Science – this is the second scientific degree, which involves the acquisition of the highest competences in the development and implementation of research methodology, conducting original research, obtaining scientific results that provide solutions to important theoretical or applied problems, have national or global significance and are published in scientific journals.

The degree of doctor of science is awarded by a specialized academic council of an institution of higher education or a scientific institution based on the results of public defense of scientific achievements in the form of a dissertation or a published monograph, or on a set of articles published in national and international peer-reviewed professional publications, the list of which is approved by the central executive authority in the field of education and science.
