The student language ombudsman - is a representative of the student body, authorized to promote the development of a high-quality Ukrainian-speaking academic environment at Odesa Polytechnic.
The main tasks of the ombudsman are to protect the right of students of higher education to receive information and educational services in the state language and to eliminate obstacles and restrictions in the use of the state language.
The student language ombudsman, in accordance with the tasks assigned to him, is obliged:
- prevent violations of rights and freedoms related to the functioning of the state language and promote their restoration;
- urgently and in the shortest possible time to facilitate consideration of appeals received by him;
- contribute to ensuring proper, impartial and confidential consideration of appeals on the basis of equality, tolerance for social origin, political, religious and other beliefs.
The student language ombudsman has the right to:
- to make proposals to the leadership of the Odessa Polytechnic on improving the work of the university's units on issues of compliance with current legislation related to the functioning of the state language;
- initiate consideration of cases related to the use of the state language in the educational process in institute commissions on ethics and conflict management based on student appeals;
- to participate in the work of commissions on ethics and conflict management when considering cases related to the use of the state language in the educational process;
- to receive from the management of Odesa Polytechnic the necessary information for the performance of their powers.
