Project Goal

The project aims to coordinate the efforts of 11 universities in uniting researchers and students from all Visegrad Four countries and Ukraine to conduct joint research, exchange knowledge, engage different generations in implementing innovative ideas, and promote deeper cooperation in economic and political spheres while supporting Ukrainian society in the process of European integration.

Main Project Objectives

The project is designed to strengthen cooperation between the Visegrad Four countries and Ukraine in the context of Ukraine’s EU accession negotiations. The creation of an interdisciplinary cluster of experts (in economics and political science) will bring together professors, PhD students, and master’s students for joint research, academic exchange, and cross-border dialogue on the following topics:

  • Analysis of economic and political cooperation scenarios between the Visegrad Four and Ukraine (medium- and long-term perspectives) considering the security situation: trade, investments, export potential, barrier removal, and development assistance;
  • Support for Ukraine’s EU integration through coordinated efforts of the Visegrad Four;
  • Research on international migration: implications and opportunities;
  • Collaboration in Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction;
  • Promoting sustainability through cooperation aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
  • Exploring opportunities for cross-border cooperation during wartime;
  • Fostering an inclusive border between Ukraine and the Visegrad Four.

Expected Project Outcomes

  • Establishment of an interdisciplinary cluster of researchers and students in economics and political science, uniting participants from the Visegrad Four countries and Ukraine to jointly analyze economic and political challenges.
  • Conducting a series of joint research projects and academic exchanges to develop new scientific approaches, create specific recommendations for economic and political cooperation, and strengthen academic partnerships.
  • Organization of seminars, workshops, and essay competitions to engage students in discussing pressing issues, fostering critical thinking, and generating new ideas for further collaboration.
  • Development of a shared academic vision regarding the prospects of cooperation between the Visegrad Four countries and Ukraine, serving as a foundation for proposals to enhance regional partnerships.
  • Preparation and publication of analytical materials to be hosted on the project’s web platform, shared on social media, and presented at public events to raise public awareness.
  • Development of new models of cross-border interaction to improve transboundary and intergenerational ties, further strengthening regional cooperation.
