Courses "Designing computer games for learning" for school teachers

The Department of Information Activities and Media Communications ONPU presented the course 

The meeting with the teachers of Odesa secondary school №56 was held on January 25, 2019. Candidate of Art Criticism, Associate Professor of the Department of Information Activities and Media Communications of the Odesa National Polytechnic University Lugovaya Tatyana Anatolyevna spoke on the topic “Designing computer games for training. Game-Based Learning ”, spoke about the newest paradigms of modern education in the conditions of the information society, revealed the wide possibilities of using Serious games in teaching students, raised the question of new views on the role of computer games in teaching, the principles of their design and use in teaching.

The course "Designing computer games for learning" provides knowledge about the basics of game design, current educational concepts of deeper learning, flipped learning, game design learning, game design learning, and teaching computer games design.

According to the results of the course, everyone gets a project of his own game, all presentations of classes, an electronic version of the book “Designing computer games for training”, a certificate of completion of courses, many creative ideas and positive emotions.

Course Coach - Tatiana Anatolievna Lugovaya, Associate Professor of Information Activities and Media Communications, Certified Game Designer (Michigan State University), member of the GameHub team from Odesa (Рroject Erasmus+KA2 «GameHub: collaboration between universities and enterprises in game industry in Ukraine» (No. 561728 -EPP-1-2015-1- ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP)), "Runner-up" of the International Competition for the design of computer games Global Game Jam 2019.

Courses "Designing computer games for learning" for school teachers held on the basis of the department of information activities and media communications ONPU. It will be held every Thursday in February and March (5 lessons). Venue: ONPU, Faculty of Humanities (Seminarskaya str., 7), 1st floor, aud. 120x, 201t. Duration of employment - 2 hours.
