II round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the specialty "Information, library and archive work"

In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine "On the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the fields of knowledge and specialties in the 2018/2019 academic year" No. 1010 dated 09/18/2018 at the Department of Information Activities and Media Communications of the Humanities Faculty of the Odesa National Polytechnic University was held the second stage of the II round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the specialty "Information, library and archive work" among students of institutions of higher education Ukraine's formation of III-IV accreditation levels. 

On March 27, 2019, the final scientific and practical conference of the 2nd round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the specialty "Information, library and archive work" took place in the office of the administrative building of the Odesa National Polytechnic University.

The Vice-Rector for Scientific-Pedagogical and Educational Work of ONPU, Dr. Sc. (Eng.), Professor Nesterenko S.A., made a welcoming speech, wishing students new scientific discoveries.

Dean of the Faculty of Humanities ONPU to. Mental. n, associate professor Kolot S.A. noted the exclusivity of the scientific thinking of humanities students.

Chairman of the Association of Ukrainian Documentary Professionals, Head of the Department of Information Activities and Media Communications of ONPU, Candidate of Art Critic, Associate Professor Sprinsyan V.G. He expressed his hopes for further warm meetings of young scientists.

The purpose of the Competition is to attract students to the development of science and solving practical problems related to the creation of an information continuum on the use of special forms and methods of practical activities, analytical-synthetic, critical thinking in the field of information, library and archival affairs, in the field of process forecasting, training, justification and decision making, which is impossible without modern information and communication technologies.

The Sectoral Competition Commission provided review of 32 student research papers received from 19 institutions of higher education at the I (extramural) stage, and selected 10 scientific papers, the authors of which were invited to report and defend scientific results at the final conference.

12 students from 6 institutions of higher education spoke at the final scientific-practical conference.

Based on the reviews and evaluation of the scientific reports of the participants of the scientific-practical conference, the industry competition commission decided to recognize the 9 winners of the Competition.

A diploma of I degree was awarded to students of the 3rd course (group ID-161) of the Department of Information Activities and Media Communications of the Faculty of Humanities of ONPU Anna Petrusyova and Kochanzhi Eugene, who, together with their supervisor, Dr. Sc. on soc. com., prof. Department of IDMK Shevchenko EV presented the work on “Document communication of social networks as a basis for distance learning in Ukraine”. The study examined and characterized the document communications of domestic social networks, taking into account all the necessary aspects of their functioning in distance learning. As a result of the research, a social network ReTeach was created, intended for distance learning, and implemented in the Faculty of Humanities ONPU.

Also a diploma of III degree was awarded to a 2nd year student (group ID-171) of the Department of Information Activities and Media Communications of the Faculty of Humanities of ONPU Church Sophia with the work “Hub and coworking as effective forms of updating the work of library institutions” (scientific supervisor in soc. Com., Associate Professor, Department IDMK Biryukova TL). The aim of the study was the creation of guidelines for the implementation of HUB technologies and co-working as effective forms of updating the work in the scientific and technical library of the Odesa National Polytechnic University.

The meeting of young scientists took place in an atmosphere of scientific inspiration, lively discussions and pleasant impressions.
