The delegation was met by teachers of the Department of Nuclear Power Plants of the Institute of Energy and Computer Integrated Management Systems of the Odesa National Polytechnic University. The delegation was headed by a representative of the ZNPP Training Center Shepel E.N.
Professional orientation work was carried out with future applicants. The delegation visited the premises of the Odesa branch of the Scientific and Technical Center of NAEK Energoatom, which is located on the area leased to the ONPU. These are possible places of work for graduates of the specialty “Nuclear power engineering”. There was also a tour of the ONPU for schoolchildren, who learned about the glorious history of our university and its structure.
The main attention was paid to the departments of nuclear power plants and water and fuel technology of the Institute of Energy and computer-integrated control systems ONPU. Head of the Department of NPP prof. Kravchenko V.P. spoke about the importance of the specialty "Nuclear energy" to ensure the energy independence of Ukraine. Pupils conducted on educational laboratories "Atomic and Nuclear Physics", "Materials of nuclear technology", "Dosimetry and protection against ionizing radiation" and "Water-chemical regimes of nuclear power plants." An experienced prof. V. Kirov, who worked at the department of nuclear power plants since its inception. He expressed confidence in the correctness of his choice of profession. Further, the delegation was addressed by the students Natalya Shchedrova and Trotsyuk Segiy, who spoke about student life at ONPU, amateur art activities, sports, and participation in scientific work, presentations at scientific seminars and conferences. Pupils were given brochures about the department of nuclear power plants, ONPU and booklets with reviews of graduates who occupy leading positions in the nuclear industry of Ukraine.
At the end of his stay in Odesa for pupils, the associate professor of the department of nuclear power plants Zoteeva O.E. conducted a tour of the city. The holding of such events should restore the interest of schoolchildren to engineering specialties in Odesa Polytech.
