Experience of the European Advertising Standards Alliance. Marketing students of the Odessa National Polytechnic University learn experience European Advertising Standards Alliance.

On May 28, 2019, an open lecture was given by Justin Reisit, Director of the European Advertising Standards Development and Policy Department (EASA, Brussel), to marketing students from the Odesa National Polytechnic University. The topic of the lecture: “Professional associations in advertising: why they exist and what they can give to advertisers-practitioners. Case study from EASA.

The European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) brings together 27 independent European organizations for self-regulation of advertising markets, responsible for complying with national codes governing advertising and marketing, and 14 industry associations (advertisers, advertising agencies and media).

EASR works with EU policymakers to ensure recognition of sectoral self-regulation. The Alliance not only ensures the development of self-regulatory mechanisms, but also ensures that the network of industry organizations meets the highest standards by creating recommendations for them to implement best practices.

Justin Reisit spoke about the activities of EASA, the place and role of professional associations in the field of regulation, showed the experience of the Alliance coordinating the efforts of European associations to introduce ethical standards for advertising, to develop national and European standards for self-regulation in advertising.
