German-Ukrainian Conference of Municipal Partnerships

On November 7, ONPU Center for Energy Efficient Technologies participated in the Fourth German-Ukrainian Conference on Municipal Partnerships organized by SKEW of the German non-profit society Engagement Global together with the Odesa City Council.

The subject of this year's event, through panel discussions and expert reports, were various aspects of environmental protection and adaptation to climate change and, accordingly, the potential for partnerships. In addition, the conference marks the beginning of the formation of thematic clusters between the central actors of German cooperation for development in Ukraine and the network of German-Ukrainian municipal partnerships.

The conference was delivered by the scientific director of CEET of the Odesa National Polytechnic University prof. Klimchuk OA and invited the conference participants to visit the Center for Energy Efficient Technologies.

More than 30 representatives of self-government bodies, including mayors, burgomasters, deputy heads of development departments of Ukrainian and German cities, visited CEET, where they were able to get acquainted with the directions of work of the center.

Before the excursion, the Vice-Rector prof. Dmitryshyn DV In his speech, he spoke about the current state of the university, prospects for development, and stressed the importance of collaborating with German specialists, both in the field of education and in scientific projects.

Further, a guided tour of the center's laboratories was organized for the participants of the conference. Klimchuk OA During the excursion the guests were able to get acquainted with the current exhibits of CEET, scientific directions of ONPU scientists in the field of energy efficiency, programs of work with schoolchildren. It should be noted that the event was attended by CEET partners: Danfoss (Denmark, heat supply systems), Parity (Ukraine, modern window technologies), PE Infosvyaz (Ukraine, solar panels), who spoke about modern energy-saving technologies and provided professional advice to those who wish. Upon completion of the excursion, guests were provided with energy efficiency information packages.
