The Department is one of the oldest in the University with its unique history. The training of electrical engineers started from the moment of establishment of Odessa Polytechnic Institute in 1918 and continues until now.

The department has laboratories and training centers equipped with modern electrical equipment of the world's leading manufacturers: "Schneider Electric", "Siemens", "ABB". The laboratory base of the department is constantly updated.

The department pays special attention to the practical component in the training of students. The training programs provide for industrial practice, which takes place in power supply and power grid companies, industrial and agricultural enterprises, ports, inspections for energy supervision and energy saving, design, electrical installation departments of construction companies.

The existing joint bilateral agreements allow getting additional language training, internship and training in the leading countries of Europe. The staff of the department actively forms partnerships with manufacturing enterprises of Ukraine and the world.
