Objective

Ensuring the safety and efficiency of nuclear fuel utilization.

Main Tasks

  1. Addressing safety issues related to the storage of nuclear fuel in temporary repositories.
  2. Studying the behavior of nuclear fuel in severe nuclear accident scenarios with loss of coolant (LOCA).
  3. Researching properties and justifying the development of accident-tolerant fuel (ATF).
  4. Modeling nuclear fuel behavior to support experiment planning and result interpretation.

Expected Results

  1. Improved safety of nuclear fuel storage in temporary repositories.
  2. Deeper knowledge of nuclear fuel behavior patterns in severe nuclear accident scenarios with loss of coolant (LOCA).
  3. Justification for the development of advanced accident-tolerant nuclear fuel (ATF).
  4. Enhanced modeling of nuclear fuel processes to support experiment planning and interpretation.
