Description

The project aims to create an effective response system to security challenges, strengthening regional security and addressing pan-European challenges. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the project plans to cover various aspects of security policy by developing a guide summarizing best practices from Ukraine and the EU. This guide is expected to become a valuable resource for preparing future managers capable of effectively responding to modern security challenges important for both Ukraine and the European Union.

The primary focus is on creating and implementing the elective discipline **“Resilience to Security Challenges”** for students of the National University **“Odesa Polytechnic”**. The course is designed for 56 hours per year (168 hours over three years), including lectures, seminars, debates, and round tables. It targets bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students from various specializations. Interactive formats such as workshops, role-playing games, TED Talks, and debates will ensure deep engagement with the subject. The course aims to develop competencies in public administration, prepare state sector representatives, and implement European standards in Ukraine.

Keywords: security, European integration, public administration, multidisciplinarity, education, European Union.

Goal

To raise awareness among university students, future public administration specialists, business representatives, and the Ukrainian civil sector, and to develop their competencies in ensuring national resilience in a changing security environment according to EU standards.

Objectives

The project aims to:

  1. Study theoretical and practical aspects of ensuring national resilience in a changing and uncertain security environment.
  2. Propose an interdisciplinary theoretical foundation to master practical mechanisms for identifying, monitoring, preventing, and responding to potential and latent security challenges.
  3. Analyze European practices of ensuring national resilience to explore their potential adaptation in Ukraine.
  4. Develop recommendations on conceptual principles and response models for security challenges, forming and implementing comprehensive state policies in security and resilience, and improving Ukraine's legislation.

To achieve this goal, the project involves developing educational materials and teaching the course **“Resilience to Non-Security Challenges: Ukraine and European Context”**. The course focuses on building competencies for creating a secure environment and implementing European standards in the Ukrainian context.

Expected Outcomes

  1. Enhancing the teaching and research of the principles and foundations of the "EU Global Strategy in the Field of Foreign Policy and Security" in Ukrainian higher education institutions.
  2. Preparing a training manual for the course **"Resilience to Non-Security Challenges: Ukraine and European Context".**
  3. Raising awareness among scholars and society (particularly representatives of government authorities, local self-governments, politicians, civil society, businesses, and media) about addressing resilience challenges through communication events (webinars, workshops, final conference).
