Goal

Development of competency-based curricula for continuous, comprehensive training of specialists in climate services in Ukraine, as well as initiation and advancement of supplementary education on climate change for decision-makers, professionals in climate-dependent industries, and the general public.

Main Objectives

  1. Develop competency-based concepts of professional education in climate services and supplementary education for professionals in climate-dependent industries.
  2. Create educational materials and prepare online and blended courses to provide methodological support for continuous and comprehensive professional training in climate services.
  3. Develop blended courses on climate change and adaptation for decision-makers, along with massive open online courses (MOOCs) in the same area for professionals in climate-dependent industries.
  4. Develop MOOCs on climate change and adaptation for the general public, aligning with the concept of lifelong learning.

Expected Outcomes

  1. An adapted framework of competencies in climate services.
  2. A multi-level education concept in climate services.
  3. Recommendations on training and program development in climate services.
  4. An educational platform with telecommunications and information systems.
  5. Developed ClimEd courses: lifelong learning courses in climate services, courses for specialists in climate services, courses for climate-dependent industry professionals and decision-makers, economic modules, and MOOCs.
  6. Organized training events (workshops).
  7. Professional development for administrative and academic staff.
  8. Quality assurance strategy and plan.
