WHO WE PREPARE

The institute trains specialists and managers for public authorities and enterprises, institutions, and organizations of various ownership forms.

Our graduates are creative and talented professionals of the new generation capable of solving complex problems in conditions of permanent economic crisis, lack of funds, forecast uncertainty, and during the reform of the public management system. Since 1996, the institute has trained almost 14,000 managers who hold key positions in the state authorities and local self-government bodies of Ukraine, as well as in the banking, financial, and investment sectors.

WHY IS THIS ACTUAL

Ukraine is undergoing fundamental changes in all spheres of public life, driven by processes of global socio-economic and civilizational transformations. Such challenges require the modernization of the public management system. An effective system of public administration is one of the main factors of the state's competitiveness. In addition, an efficient system of public administration is the main prerequisite for democratic governance based on the rule of law.

All of this requires the training of modern, highly qualified, competent professionals capable of professionally and promptly solving problems and tasks of strategic and current management of the public sphere at the regional and local levels.

WHO TEACHES

The Institute of Public Service and Management unites relevant departments, laboratories, and centers that conduct and support educational activities and carry out research.

Today, the scientific and pedagogical staff of the institute are creative and successful professionals, most of whom have practical experience in public authorities and business structures, 80% of whom are professors, doctors of science, associate professors, and candidates of science.

Three experienced scientific and pedagogical workers have been awarded the Honorary Title "Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine", one - the Honorary Title "Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine".

The institute's lecturers are recognized experts in strategic communication and trust-building in public authorities; informatization and e-governance; tax and budget decentralization, introduction of program-targeted budgeting at the level of united communities, programming of socio-economic development; decentralization of power and local self-government reform; effective management of united territorial communities through self-organization of the population; development of tourist infrastructure; European integration and investment activities; state procurement, and others. Institute scientists participate in the implementation of international technical assistance projects.

The best scientific and pedagogical and scientific staff from other higher education institutions, foreign scholars, and practitioners with successful experience in public authorities and local self-government, the private sector, are traditionally involved in the educational process at the institute.

HOW WE TEACH

Annual updating of educational programs and curricula involving potential employers ensures the formation of relevant competencies for further successful professional work.

The institute offers a complete training cycle: Bachelor's - Master's - Doctor of Philosophy - Doctor of Science.

The institute's training is focused on mastering the latest management technologies, business analysis methods, forecasting, and solving real management situations. Training is conducted using case studies, workshops, and trainings in specialized classrooms equipped with modern computer, projection, and multimedia devices.

The institute has established renowned scientific schools in the field of "Public Administration and Management". The institute's research focuses on fundamental and applied problems of public administration. A significant portion of the research is commissioned by public authorities, the results of which are applied in practice, primarily in local executive authorities and local self-government bodies.

During their studies, students have the opportunity to: thoroughly study one of the European languages (English, German, French); undergo internships or semester courses at partner foreign educational institutions; dozens of students participate annually in international internships; immerse themselves in rich student life, take part in interesting trips and excursions, meetings with prominent figures, concerts, contests, theater and museum visits, sports competitions, and quests.

The institute has formed an innovative corporate culture characterized by a trusting family atmosphere, but demanding relationships among managers, academic staff, students, their parents, and employers, aimed at innovation, friendly support, and self-development, allowing to achieve set goals.

The institute's favorable location in the resort area of the city and a nine-story hotel-type dormitory with double rooms, a dining room, and a buffet, all this allows students not to be distracted by household matters. Nearby are the library, classrooms, departments, with free Wi-Fi access. Institute students have the opportunity to use the sports complex, the recreation base at Karolino-Buhaz, and much more.

Our graduates are highly valued by employers and are employed in their field with decent wages in enterprises, institutions, and organizations of various ownership forms. In particular, they occupy positions of civil servants in state authorities and in territorial communities - officials in executive bodies and councils, specialists in budgetary institutions and organizations, managers in communal enterprises.

Among the students and graduates of the institute are members of parliament and local councils, heads and specialists of central executive bodies and their territorial units, heads and deputy heads of regional/district state administrations, heads and deputy heads of regional/district councils, city/settlement/village heads, law enforcement officials, top managers of business structures, figures of art and culture, scientists working in other institutions of higher education.
